| - Do you remember, not that long ago, when most towns had a great music store? A place where you could look around, play some instruments, feel comfortable and still get a great price and some pretty gosh-darned good service?
Well, wakey-wakey eggs and bakey! Right here, in sleepy little Chagrin Falls, is just such a place. Small, sure, but with a very nice layout, chock full of new and used stuff, a little something for everyone. Here are two things that just jumped right out when I walked in this afternoon: a nice mid-sixties Gibson TUBE amp, for way, WAY under what they could get for it on eBay. And, hanging on the opposite wall, two very VERY sweet "jazz box" guitars, again, for way, WAY under what they would be going for on CraigsList. I was in the market for an upright bass stand, and the guy working the counter said, "Hey, I know a guy looking to sell one. Let me give him a call."
What is this, "It's a Wonderful Life?" Am I in Bedford Falls? Where's old man Potter and the Building and Loan? Is the guy working the counter at Warren Henry actually George Bailey? (And could he introduce me to that uber-cougar, Donna Reed?)
Okay, snap out of it. You really have to stop by this shop. If it were about two hundred square feet bigger, and a tad easier to find, I'd toss the coveted fifth star on the crown. As it is, the Warren Henry Music store is worth a side trip to bucolic Bedford Falls.... errrrr.... CHAGRIN Falls. "Every time you patronize a local merchant, an angel gets his wings!"
(It is located at the north end of town, on a side alley, behind another store, beneath a moss-covered rock, and you have to know the secret handshake, and change ZuZu's diaper, plus pay the troll who lives under the bridge. Unless you have GPS.)
