Sun Grove Resort Village (SGRV) went bankrupt in 2013 after being destroyed in the AREI/OAKDALE HEIGHTS Ponzi scheme. That Ponzi scheme destroyed 23 seniors living facilities and stole $250 million from 2,000 investors.
The SGRV 20+ investors/owners received the property back when the ponzi collapsed in 2008. However, SGRV never recovered from the previous crooked ponzi management. Fannie Mae repossessed the SGRV senior living property in 2014. Fannie Mae sold it as a distressed property in 2015 for a $1 million loss of its estimated $5 million value because of the dangerous property conditions. The 86-unit and 11 building property was allowed to deteriorated due to financially caused neglect for 10 years starting in 2006.
SGRV was purchased by Hoazilla LLC and is being repaired in order to reopen as an independent senior housing facility. The Peoria Building Code and Inspections are actively involved in reviewing the many required building permits. We lived at SGRV for several years. We hope the dangerous problems of: fire causing electrical wiring, uneven payments that have caused injuries and death, dirty bacteria filled pool, leaky moldy water pipes, and raw sewage in the kitchen/dining room are fixed to protect the future elderly residents.
Sun Grove Resort Village has hired Tarantino Properties to run the senior living property. Tarantino Properties is hiring all new help for every position. When this senior living facility reopens it is being renamed THE FOUNTAINS AT LAKE PLEASANT.
