| - Murphy's law has three great attributes, and food isn't one of them. Firstly, it can hold large groups of people, so it's popular for baseball teams and other sporty folk. Secondly, it's got a fantastic rooftop patio, from which you can avoid the traffic, but still see the lake. Thirdly, it's right across the street from my gym, so that I can run on the treadmill while plotting my post-workout cocktail.
Having been to Murphy's Law at least two dozen times, l wouldn't recommend it as a great place to eat. However, it a great place to meet, and nice place to watch the sunset. Having been there so often, I've my own strategy. If I'm going to meet friends, I totally lower my expectations about service and cuisine, and focus on the company. If I'm going for an intimate conversation, I sit at the bar, where I'm guaranteed two star service - possibly three. And if you I go on wing night (Tuesday) I don't go hungry 'cus the service is often worse than usual.
So by all means head there with a pack of people after a sweaty day on bikes and your likely to get a table and a friendly server. Just don't get your hopes up about an icey cold Corona, 'cus they don't serve beer from Mexico but suggest Bud Light with lime instead. And they lose half a star, just for that.
