  • While roaming Queen Street toward the twilight hours, it was time to find a place to take a break, and Nadege presented itself as an appealing option, its corner storefront with big windows looking into a huge counter of colorful pastries. Inside, this bright, streamlined store of whites and woods has about 10 small tables, some bar seats in front of the windows and shelves with packaged goods, opposite the long counter encasing a neat, uncrowded, and beautiful display of pastries, lined up like little soldiers. The single serving pastry offerings are interesting (I wanted to try the Earl Grey & Grapefruit Tart). They have a big selection of macarons, lined up in a rainbow of colors. Also saw various croissants on offer, apparently a specialty of theirs, including cute little croissant sandwiches. Coffees and teas for drinking. Plenty of staff behind the counter, attentive and helpful. We tried a few macarons and one of the pastries. The chocolate pastry was tasty, not too sweet, nice creamy interior. My friend gave the macarons a thumbs up. Nice place. Undeniably on the expensive side, but the products are beautiful and well-made.
