Growing up in SoCal where dim sum is known to be some of the best in the United States, I came to Arizona not expecting a whole lot from their dim sum scene. I was right as Phoenix Palace can't compare to dim sum in Cali. Their chicken feet tasted stale and did not have the tender quality of the skin that I enjoy. Their beef as well as shrimp rice noodles were of poor quality as I could not taste the flavors of the meat and seafood. Their BBQ pork bun wasn't too bad, but did not have enough of the BBQ flavor that I normally taste. Their fried turnip cake lacked any savory flavor and was too plain. Their duck egg and minced pork porridge was too watery which overpowered the egg and pork flavors. Their Gai Lan with oyster sauce was decent, about the only thing I felt was passable. It was almost empty the 2 times that I came, once on a weekday afternoon and once on a weekend morning, so service was friendlier and more efficient because there was no busy rush for the staff.
