  • We stopped by the Venetian to visit Bouchon Bakery. Was there any doubt that I would go out of my way to buy pastry? I think not. While there, I thought my kiddo would enjoy a ride on the gondola. Finding out where to buy tickets was a bit of a challenge, particularly since we weren't staying at the hotel. If you want to know what a rat feels like in a maze looking for cheese, go here. After I bought the tickets, I realized there was an indoor and an outdoor one. Doh! After riding it, I was happy we did the indoor as I melt like the wicked witch of the west in the direct sun (long story). We managed not to tip the boat (surprisingly) when boarding. I found our operator, very conversational and pleasant. He sang quite a bit (as they all do) and he was quite good (not all of them were). It's a bit strange riding around with people taking pictures of you as you go by. I thought it was a fun experience and would definitely do it again. I probably will since I can find pastry at the Venetian.
