I came here for a wedding and I gotta say I was impressed. I'm sure part of it was wedding decorations and bride/groom selection and preferences, but still gotta give props to the venue.
First thing you that will make a conference/wedding easier, park in the back. It's not obvious that you have to park in the back, but that's where the halls are. Parking north of core downtown Toronto in my opinion should be free, so I don't get it either when you gotta pay for parking. Luckily in this case it was covered (no idea if bride/groom or complimentary from hotel) but they have these kiosks to register your license plate which I thought was quite cool and easy.
The hor d'oeuvres were crab cakes, skewers and this seafood on bread thing. I thought they were delicious!
The meal, again probably preference, but was executed very well. The bisque soup was very nice with a chili oil kick. The smoked salmon salad appetizer was delicious as that smoked salmon was super soft and great to eat. The entree a decision between prime rib and salmon. I thought I made a bad choice with the salmon but I was super surprised by how nice the salmon was. It's not your normal salmon steak from Loblaws/T&T, but it was a nice fillet that had skin that tasted like it was fished just a day ago.
The venue was high ceilings and great lighting. Washrooms were clean and accessible. The food came out in a really ordered manner and I wasn't left hungry.
Good job Westin Prince catering!
