  • If you value top notch customer service this is store is a must shop. When it comes to purchasing jeans my typical experience has been an exhilarating high when i realize how many brands styles and washes there are to choose from, followed by a back to reality low when I realize that anything remotely stylish doesn't come in my size. You see ordering jeans for a 6'7" man who only has the "Tall" portion of the "Big and Tall" is never easy. I've had some success with J. Crew in the past so i figured I would give them another try. I Ordered a pair on line because apparently I'm the only guy in Cleveland who wears a sz 36/36. I told the on line sales rep what i was looking for and she told me the straight leg jeans were what suited me best. I Received a pair that I was told by the sales rep on the phone were the slimmest pair before the skinny jeans. They arrived very quickly (under 5 business days) however I thought they seemed fairly baggy. Ended up wearing them anyways as I believed they were the closest to what i was looking for. A week later I was in store and saw a pair that were slimmer than the pair i purchased (that I coincidentally had on.)Somewhat frustrated I explained to the sales woman that i thought the pair I had ordered were actually the pair that i was looking at in store. The sales woman apologized for the mistake and told me to bring them back tomorrow and she would do a full exchange free of charge! I told her i wasn't sure if this would be possible as i had them on. She told me not to worry she would take care of it because "after all if you pay for something you want to get what you expected!" I think i thanked her a dozen times. I brought them to her the following day and just as promised she allowed me to return them. This is where things get good. She then gave me a gift card with the full purchase amount on it and walked over to a customer service phone that upon picking it up connects you directly to a live customer service rep and explained the situation to the rep and placed an order for the correct jeans while I waited. She even go the rep to waive the shipping charges and send the new pair directly to my office! When the exchange was finished i had the new jeans I wanted and somehow there was .71 cents left on the gift card. Mind you this all took place after i had worn the jeans several times. Its rare to find this level of customer service from any chain store and because of this J. Crew has earned one more lifelong customer.
