Went in for a first visit at the insistence several friends, left wondering what all the hullabaloo surrounding this place is about. Sure, Flower Child houses more old junk (err...'vintage accessories') than most similar stores in the area, but a larger quantity of dusty artifacts from yesteryear does not a great store make! Prices seem steep, especially for a vintage shop....in Cleveland, and the staff seems to take themselves and the store a little too seriously.
Perhaps now that I'm firmly in my late 20's vintage stores have lost some of their appeal - I'd much rather skip the middle man and scrounge estate sales and local auctions for my vintage funk factor. Still, it's good to know that I can rely on Flower Child if I ever find myself in need of some 80's porn, Barry Manilow vinyl, or Jesus art.
