Went to Bank of America at 6th and E. Bell, Road at 2:15 yesterday to get a simple used car loan for $10K that I could have paid all cash for and in retrospect should have. Since I was putting over 30% down on the car, have 820 FICO score, have had several accounts for 12 years at B of A including Merrill Lynch, plus two credit cards with available lines of credit over $15K and no debt, thought it would be easy enough. They made me wait a long time, then 2 guys sat in the meeting at 3:05 p.m. and played games with me. Told me loan approval would take 2 days. Something very FISHY. Went to Hertz Auto Sales down the road, they took care of me the same day but showed me a red mark on my report at Bank of America. Seems that a foreclosure in my previous marriage during a divorce over 10 years ago and no longer on any of my current credit reports stays forever at Bank of America. Yup, BANK OF AMERICA CHOOSES TO PUNISH YOU FOREVER FOR YOUR MISTAKES despite that federal law that says 7 years foreclosure will have effect on your credit.
