  • Dr. Vickers is a great doctor. However, to echo the other reviews the office staff are horrible people who lack compassion and lack any empathy for patient care. This very trait should be required in the healthcare field. The state of my health is quite complex and Dr. Vickers really understands this. He even acknowledged that many of the issues faced by patients in the Las Vegas area in particular stem from office staff not adequately scheduling patients and their insurance. With that being said, as it came time to schedule my endoscopy, he personally walked me Alex, the lady who does the scheduling. When he overheard this Hispanic lady try to schedule me for March 26, he immediately walked over and told her No, get her on the schedule for the first or second week of March . She seemed annoyed but said ok. Dr. Vickers then walked away and she looked at me saying well I have so much to do filing in trying to schedule for three different doctors but I promise to call you tomorrow ( Friday 2/22/18 to get you scheduled. I was nervous because when this is said, you are often forgotten. She wrote my name on a blue post it note and put it on her computer monitor to assure me. I didn't want to argue further and took her word for it. That Friday came and went. So on Monday, 2/26/18 I called the office at 11am, I spoke to a gentleman named Michael who stated the lady was in "clinicals" but will pass her the message and she will call me back by the afternoon. I did not get a call back, so I called back at 4:30pm, a lady named Vanessa answered and said she was from their other office but had an idea of who I spoke to and said she had left for the day but I could leave her a message and if she did not return my call by 2pm on Tuesday 2/27/18 to call her so she can transfer me to the clinical manager. Loan and behold this lady "Alex" never called me back so I called back at 3:30 and was finally transferred to Alex. Alex said look, I have to schedule other patients for three different doctors, I don't even work for your dr I'm scheduling you as a favor to him. I asked her to put herself in my shoes I'm in excruciating pain I feel like I am having a heart attack when I eat a few bites of food since 2011. She said I'm not the only patient and she will try to get to me when she can. I was crying not yelling on the phone trying to plead with her to please get me scheduled she placed me on hold and then a lady claiming to be the clinical manager answered the phone and said can I help you? I pleaded to please get me scheduled and she got real short with me saying her staff is doing the best they can and asked me to quit exaggerating, I said nicely to please not talk down to me she got so defensive stating they aren't talking down to me what part of they will try their best do I not get, they are done talking to me there's no getting through to me. I asked if there was any way to talk to Dr. vickers directly, she got more defensive and said No you are not talking to dr. Vickers what part of we are trying our best don't you get, there's no getting through to you we are going in circles and slammed the phone on me. The entire office staff is like a clique in middle school they stick up for each other and undermine the patients. It is cruel and inhumane. I truly wish the doctors of this practice would look into house cleaning to hire staff that is compassionate and has a deeper understanding of quality patient care, rather than only hire people simply because they are bilingual! Please! Instead of making a difficult process to begin with you are adding unnecessary stress among patients who are suffering serious issues.
