| - The idea behind Topgolf is awesome, but the execution is lacking. We came in on a Saturday night, so we were expecting a wait but when we were told 3 hours at 8pm I felt that that was a bit excessive. But I was super excited, so we decided to wait it out. We sat in the bar area on the main floor which was very crowded and lively-had a good vibe! It took a while for someone to come up to us, a few different waitresses kept asking if we had been helped yet and we said no still to not have anyone come actually take an order for about 10 minutes. Fortunately, we didn't mind because we were waiting for another couple to join us. In the meantime, we ordered drinks from the bar(got id'd which is fine....once) but then throughout the rest of the night we all had to show our ids about 3-4 more times to different people even though we clearly had drinks and had already been ID'd. But that was the least of my concerns throughout the night
When our friends got there, they had just sat down, took off their coats and a waiter going by spilt old, eaten food all over our friend and his jacket. He barely received an apology and had to persuade someone who was the manager I'm guessing who finally came over to give him an appetizer on the house(in my opinion should have been offered right away).
Our waitress was not very attentive and in the middle of my order pulled out her cellphone. I was blown away. Being in the restaurant business for a long time, I have never seen anyone do this at a table! And as soon as that happened, I knew that our order was going to be messed up(on top of being on her phone, she wasn't writing anything down). And big surprise, our orders came out all messed up. So needless to say, we were not happy.
We had to send one plate back and by the time it came back out we were moving outside to start playing golf. I will say, once we got out there, our experience at Topgolf improved tenfold! We had a fantastic waitress and it was much warmer outside than it was inside.
Overall, I really like the idea of Topgolf, but unfortunately most of our experience was ruined by some of the staff and how inattentive they were.
