I'm just an average dude with a boring haircut. Short on the top and shorter on the sides. That's it. Which is why I find baffling that I have so much difficulty finding a truly good haircut. For my plain vanilla hair style, I have found that the difference between the $8 Great Clips cut and the $40 fancy salon cut is negligible, which led me vow to always go cheap. Mind you, I'm not saying there is no difference, it's just that the difference is not great enough for me to justify spending so much more money for my basic haircut.
Which is why I was so excited to discover Fast Eddy's. They offered the hip, above-average haircut for the corner-barber shop prices When I first started going there several years ago, guys cuts where approximately $10-12. Now they are as much as most other salons I would go to. So I still go there if it's convenient. But I will try other places in my quest for the best dull haircut.
One more thing. I did once have my hair cut there by Ed, the owner. It was a great cut and worth the price. At the time, however, he suggested he was becoming too busy with the business side of things to cut much hair.
