We dined at The Great Dane on a busy Friday night with a group of 10 people which included our friend who is confined to a wheelchair. We chose Great Dane because we knew the restaurant is accessible, which in our friend's case means no stairs, enough room to maneuver his wheelchair through the dining room and wide entry doors. He had no accessibility issues with the restaurant.
Next, the staff was awesome tonight! Not only to our friend, but they accommodated the fact we didn't know how big our group would be and it was no issue for us to take up a table and just have drinks while waiting for the rest of our group to arrive. We run into too many situations at other restaurants where we must wait for the entire party to arrive until they will seat us. We appreciated the flexibility they gave us in that regard.
Everyone in our group seemed to enjoy their entrees. Since this was a Friday night, I gave their fried perch a try, and while certainly tasty, it was a very small portion especially for the price. It consisted of 3 smallish fish filets and a small portion of fries and cole slaw. This probably met my personal caloric requirement for this meal, but a big guy or a teenager would have walked away hungry from that meal. Other meals on the table seemed to be of a more reasonable size.
Food came out very quickly once our entire group was there and we were able to order. The small portion certainly won't prevent me from going back, I may just have to choose something different depending on my appetite.
