I had an appointment at 7:30pm for an MRI of my neck which my doctors and I believe is the main cause of my migraines. So of course that night I had a migraine, which I told the tech I had a migraine and she told me that the machine was loud and she would give me ear plugs. So we go in and she tells me to lay down and just gives me headphones. She gave me no idea of what to expect other than it should take about 15 minutes. They gave me a "call button" ball in case I needed anything. So in the headphones the guy tells me the first set will be 30 seconds. It was beyond loud! It was like someone was jackhammering next to my head while the buzzer from a basketball game was going off. So then he says the next one is 2 minutes. So, again I endured the horrible pain of my head pounding for 2 minutes of this horrible noise. So I push my "call button," but then he says next one 5 minutes. So here we go again. I think I survived that one, but the last one I was literally fighting back tears and trying not to move, when the guy finally asked if I was ok. And of course I said NO! So he came to get me out and I'm crying. I explained that I have a migraine and the other girl said she would give ear plugs but didn't and I pushed the call button, but apparently you have to squeeze it really hard (again part of the not explaining). So he did give me ear plugs and I had to repeat the last image and it was loud but much more manageable. I left crying and in so much pain. It was a horrible experience and just thinking about it brings me to tears. I don't know if it was because it was late and they wanted to go home or what, but it's been two days since this experience and I'm still so upset about what happened.
