Best carne asada tacos north of the border? Not even close! While I appreciate what this place is doing it is WAAAAYYYY over hyped. The lady is very nice and a good upseller. The place isnt special but its what you would expect from a small taco bar.
I had 2 carne asada tacos and 1 barbacoa (talked me into it). They came with two salsas and I ordered guac on the side (talked me into). The highlight was definitely the guac. It was spicy, fresh, and delicious. Was it worth a dollar fifty?? Sure, why not. Although I dont care for cilantro stems personally.
The meat was chewy and on the cold side. The tortillas were store bought corn that fell apart. The pico salsa was a-ight. And the roasted pepper one was rather weak for me. If I lived near here I'd probably check it out again as it wasnt bad. But that best carne asada tacos line needs to go pronto.
I should hit up the local carniceria and pick some carne asada and invite some of you 5 star happy fellow yelpsters to the crib and show you how its done ;)
