This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite little gems in the Shadyside/East Liberty area. They have fantastic barbecue meats and a variety of really good sauces. The portions are big enough and the sides are hearty and pair with the main dishes extremely well.
Parking has never been an issue for me, but given the location I could see it being a problem at peak times. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful and they love to let you sample the different sauces and impart their knowledge of bbq on new customers to make sure they have a great experience. Not only do they serve southern cuisine, but they do so with a healthy dose of southern hospitality.
The menu is full of interesting and unique meats and sides and they even offer smoked tofu dishes for the vegan crowd to enjoy. Honestly the hardest part of going there for me is trying to figure out what I want because it all sounds and smells amazing. I usually settle on the brisket or pulled pork and have yet to be disappointed by either, so I wholeheartedly recommend those to first time visitors.
Honestly my only complaint is that they have strange hours, and more than once I've stopped by after work hoping to grab some grub to take home only to find the doors locked. If they fixed that and offered delivery this would be my favorite place in the city.
