After reading reviews from other Yelpers my husband and I decided to give this place a try and we were majorly disappointed.
We started off with the Guinness Fondue which came with three pretzel sticks which were actually good, but the fondue itself tasted like canned cheese with beer poured in just before serving.
My husband ordered the Bangers and Mash which didn't seem to have been made with many fresh ingredients. The gravy was thick, gloppy and under seasoned while the sausage was bland and lackluster. The only redeeming item on the plate was the whole grain mustard mashed potatoes which were good.
I had the Fish and Chips, which I thought was going to be a safe bet considering it was listed as a house specialty. The batter on the cod was like nothing that I have ever seen before, it was rock hard and greasy on the outside and soggy and under cooked on the inside. The tartar sauce was bland, the coleslaw inedible and the fries were boring.
The service was below average. Our waitress was friendly, but visited our table as few times as possible, which was unfortunate because it was not busy and the restaurant had many staff on hand. We observed some of the staff rolling silverware, using their phones and handling money all at the same table, we also noticed a few employees walk out of the kitchen area while chewing food which we found really quite gross.
We were really disappointed and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
