If you're taking care of non-title stuff (i.e. NC plate return, address change, duplicate registration, etc...) show up whenever! That line moves super quick and they have several people working this area. As far as the New NC Resident/Title line, it's best to get there when they open. The line will be long all day. They typically only have 2 people working with titles and the process takes a bit longer so you'll have to wait.
I got here right when they opened, literally... as I was walking up, the line started moving in the door. I'd say there were about 20 people in front of me and I waited about an hour, which honestly isn't too incredibly long for a DMV experience. The staff was friendly and helpful while working hard to get my services taken care of in a timely manner.
Overall my experience was above average compared to other TO OTHER DMV experiences
Tips/Things to know:
-They don't open till 9am
-There are two lines, make sure you know what you're there for and get in the right line (there are signs above the lines)
-Notary services and novelty items are cash only (there is an ATM inside)
