| - WARNING - THIS IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL HONEST REVIEW, IT WILL BE LONG.
But I HIGHLY suggest reading it before going with this place.
I moved into this complex on the 1st. Getting approved was a HUGE deal. Granted most of it was because I have horrible credit due to a recent custody battle, but when I applied the specific apartment that I applied for had a $500 move in special, and all because I was declined for credit and they had to get it approved with a higher deposit they took away my $500 special. I was FURIOUS. Absolutely furious. That is completely and totally wrong for a company to do that and in my opinion a fair housing violation because if you offer something to someone you have to honor that for everyone, and being promised a special and then having that taken away is just uncalled for. After telling them how upset I was the manager just told me do you want the apartment or not otherwise I'm cancelling your application. No more room for negotiation there period end of story.
Now let's talk about moving in...I viewed these apartments a month prior to leasing them. When on the tour I asked very specific questions. Keep in mind that I have been in property management for 12 years working for companies such as Mark-Taylor and Alliance Residential which ARE luxury apartment rentals and I am HIGHLY knowledgeable about what to ask and what to look out for. Questions I specifically asked were about the upgrades in the apartment homes. Yes I am one of those people who wont rent a place that doesn't have upgrades to my standard or liking. One thing I asked was about the granite, stainless steel appliances, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. They let me know that there are indeed different packages and that if I wanted all that I mentioned it was the highest package they had. Alright awesome that's not a biggy for me, but I asked specifically if the granite counter tops were going to be the beautiful white color in the model they showed me, they said yes, I asked are you sure it will have stainless steel, they said yes, are you sure that ceiling fans are included in all the bedrooms and living room, they said said...alright this was everything that I was looking for! Score! One month later I apply, of course you read what was up top already so my frustration was already there having to pay almost $4,000 just to move in (that's including all their ridiculous fees and having to pay one months rent as a deposit plus first months rent plus the cost of moving). I walked into our apartment...now this apartment has brand new everything in it which is awesome, but...the granite counter tops are the most HIDEOUS color of poop with black, not the beautiful white that was promised, and there was only one ceiling fan in the master bedroom and living room (who the hell only puts half the apartment with ceiling fans?). So on top of paying a ridiculous amount to move it, a taken away $500 move in special, baby poop colored granite, and half apartment ceiling fans, I had enough. I emailed the leasing office.
Now after I sent the email I had a few replies of no I'm sorry that was not said to you, that is not what we offer, I'm sorry you misunderstood, we gave you all the upgrades that we said the apartment was going to have (of course just not the colors that you said they were going to be!) and the one that just straight pissed me off...are you sure you weren't thinking of another apartment complex? I HAVE BEEN IN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT FOR 12 YEARS! You think that I don't know the difference between apartments? You think that I misunderstood? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I know what I asked and I know what I signed up for and it wasn't delivered what so ever. This has been a total nightmare. All the manager could say was can you please come in so we can talk about this...what the hell makes anyone think that I want to go in there and talk about something that you are not going to fix? that you are not going to honor what was promised? I'm 8 months pregnant, hormonal, and pissed off about my whole experience with this place. I do not want to go in there period and I'm sure other people would feel the same. What I WILL be doing is contacting their corporate office to let them know about all the disappointment and see if they will do anything about it. Hopefully something then will get done.
As for the grounds...the property itself is a mess but not bad bad. Most of the BBQ's are damaged, light fixtures everywhere are broken, and the residents here...oh...my...I don't know when the office last did a property inspection but just walking around there is crap everywhere! Kids leaving all their toys and bikes, laundry hanging off their patios and balconies to dry (just the stench alone is enough to make you puke but seeing other peoples bras, panties, and other things that you don't want to see is horrific), people leaving their dogs outside...it's just nasty everywhere. I'm highly disappointed with this complex.
