I've been going to Retro Bakery for a few years and I'm happy to share that they are my go to bakery when I need to grab something for the special birthday person in my life. Last year my cousin called me crying on her birthday after a long day at work - Don't worry, Retro Bakery saved her day. I grabbed a 1/2 dozen assorted cupcakes for only $15.90 and headed to family dinner just in time to sing Happy Birthday. A full dozen will run you $29.00 which is well worth the price for a specialty shop. Espically when you hear everyones reaction to how good they really are. One Butterscotch Cupcake later - no more tears from my cousin. All she could talk about was how good the frosting was. One of many reasons I keep coming back. They also do custom cakes although I have not personally ordered one.
They are located on the Northwest side of town right off of Durango and the 95. The shop sits behind the Walgreens. It's pretty easy to find. The parking lot can be a bit crammed later in the afternoon so just be prepared. Thats to be expected though as they are in a popular strip of shops.
If you do stop by, don't forget to sign up for their rewards program. After so many purchases they have a special offer for you. Staff is helpful and everything is clean. Gloves always on. I do wish they sold bottles of water for the sitting area but thats just being picky :).
