  • First of all, I loved the decor inside and the brightness/over all ambiance. Ferris Bueller's Day Out was playing (on mute) on a few of the flat screens, nice touch. Another nice touch was the charging station for your phone, but bummer, it's old and could only charge an iPhone 4 or earlier...awkward. The girl at the front desk would have been a little more welcoming, and I know this is a casual place 'n' all but she looked a little unprofessional and out of place to me. Not the best first impression. I came here because I was having a busy week and I was tired. I therefore felt particularly lazy about grooming myself, so why not have someone do the grunt work for me? Turns out I have a gift card from two Christmas' ago, double win. The girl that helped me was really friendly and made me feel very comfortable both physically and emotionally? (Sure, we'll go with emotionally). Washed my hair, nice little head massage, then back to her station for the blow drying etc. Sooooo, I've never had a blow dry before and dang I had no idea how intense it is! It didn't hurt per say but it was kind of scary, like is any of my hair being pulled out, cause it feels like it. In a weird way though, it was like a deep tissue massage for my head and it felt relieve and lighter. Anyway, I'm done saying weird stuff now. Since I asked for my curls to be tight so they would stay put over night, I cannot comment on the style cause I def wasn't too stylin' with my Shirley Temple curls. I will say though, despite the Arizona heat and poor water quality damaging my hair constantly, my hair felt brand new. It was very soft and luxurious, despite my request for extra hair spray. It felt like I got a hair cut and all the damage was gone, so for that aspect it was awesome. I now live in Houston and although they have locations here, I feel like it would be a waste with the humidity cause curls do not last. I could get my hair straightened but I can easily to that myself, curls take a little more effort. I would probably go back here again for a special occasion, like January when I'll be in town for a wedding and may find myself busy and lazy again. It wouldn't be a regular thing for me however because $40 ($50 with tip) is rather steep, considering I could get my hair cut, blow dried AND styled for $50-60. In fact that's probably what I'll do in January, now that I think of it. P.S I read other reviews about being offer a fancy beverage and snacks, I only got water *sigh*
