| - I have always loved the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino! The location is incredible- next door to New York NY (& now the Park & T Mobile Arena), across from MGM, next door to Aria and you can take a quick tram to Bellagio! Currently, it is undergoing renovations and so there are some growing pains and many restaurants are closed. But that really doesn't matter in Vegas since there are a million close by! Primrose Restaurant is still open in the lobby, and it overlooks the pool area for a garden feel (Check out my review for that separately).
Back to Monte Carlo- being under construction also means the casino isn't as big with as many options, but they still have the most popular games. My biggest concern with construction in the casino is that Monte Carlo used to be one of the least smoky casinos on the Strip. But with all the construction cutting off air flow, it's pretty stagnant. I'm going to hope that gets fixed when renovations are done.
The Old Monte Carlo pool had a lush garden feel, wave pool, and lazy river. It was awesome. I'm disappointed to see they have taken all of that out and have very basic rectangular pools now. Boring- and bound to get crowded in the summer. Since I was there during offseason, I didn't get to experience it yet, but you can see the new pools from rooms & the tram.
My room was PLUSH- I had a friend cancel last minute so I had to change my room, but got to see the double room before switching. They all have long velvet couches along the window- perfect for a nap, I know, I took one there! Furniture is modern and has definitely been updated. The room I got moved to was on a Stay Well floor which I experienced before at MGM. There's aromatherapy, air purifier, vitamin infused shower, etc etc. AMAZING! Worth asking for! I have asthma & a Stay Well Room is the key to keeping me feeling normal. Finally, Uber & Lyft pick up in the same area (just outer curb) as taxis at Monte Carlos. Most other Vegas hotels separate them & make rideshare pick up FAR away from front of hotel.
I can't wait to go back & hopefully give MC (or the Park, depending when I get back) a 5 star rating.
