| - Going into the store was extremely helpful. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were kind and helpful.
The reason I'm not giving more stars is because the sizing is extremely odd. My daughter normally wears a size 5 or 6 in most brands. We tried on their Irvington Flat Front-Navy Twill pants, the size 6 was extremely tight and would not button. We tried a size 8 (no 7s available) and the 8 fit perfect on her waist but it was about 5 inches too long. So I would need to pay to get those hemmed which sucks since they're already expensive and it is a required product for our school. I couldn't imagine a child being 5 inches taller than my daughter with a waist the same size as my daughters (she's extremely slender). Then we tried on their Navy Flat Front Stretch pants and a size 6 was perfect. (Those 2 pants are truly identical but are way off on sizing). The cardigan size that fit my daughter says it's a size 2-3 age group. Biker shorts were a size 8. I could go on and on. Here's the bottom line, half the products run either very large or very small. There's no consistency. If one pair of pants or shirt fits your kid, don't expect another in the same size to fit. Try on each and every item! Reading the labels is also very confusing. Blouses just have numbers, polos run by YXS, pants have G (guessing for girls) then a number, cardigan works same as polos even though if you wear an YXS in cardigan it won't be the same in polos, shorts go by basic numbers.... blah blah. Dennis uniform, if you read this review, please be more consistent about measuring and labeling clothing. I'm so glad I did not order these items online. The sizes are not true to an age group. My 5 year old traditionally wears clothes that are labeled either 5 or 6 and yet Dennis uniforms clothes labeled 5 or 6 or recommends it for her age group, will not fit her. Either too big or too small.
Another small issue I have is with the website. If you plan on ordering online for your specific school, note that you cannot view other products that may be optional such as hair accessories or skirts. You will only see the items that are required. So you will need to travel directly to the store to purchase other items that you may want. And you will need a sales associates help to guide you into which ones you can select from. This even includes socks. The hair accessories are labeled by style not by school and some are very similar so make sure you ask someone if it's ok with your school. But be cautious of this too though . The sales associate told me when I was in the store that I could purchase any of the socks that matched the outfit which would've been red, white or navy blue. However, I thankfully checked my schools parent handbook and red socks are not allowed. Only white or blue. It would be nice to see optional products for your specific school on the website, again, such as hair accessories, socks or skirts.
