| - Well first off, I didn't even know this place existed, but I guess it's a fairly new establishment. I only came in cause this was where we were meeting, but arrived near the location, and had to guess where I was going since there was no real signage nor an easy to find address on the building. First door I check out wasn't the right door, so I walked around the corner on Phoebe St to find the entrance, a bit confusing when you list your address as being on Spadina.
After a semi frustrating search for a place on a heavy traffic street, you're greeted with a sunken entrance which directs you to where the live band plays, to your right is a nice open lounge area to chill with your friends, to your left is the bar, and behind the "stage" is the stairs to the upstairs table area where my group was sitting.
At the back of the upstairs sitting area is a small bar. I went to the back bar, expecting to be able to get a simple drink of Red Label on the rocks. Well waited for a couple of minutes, only thing is, there was only one other customer there who got served first, which is fine, but after she left, I stood there for a minute waiting to be noticed, just a tip you guys, just say "hi" if you're busy making a drink, don't be rude and ignore me! Finally ordered my drink only to realize they don't have a full bar upstairs, bartender had to go downstairs to the main bar to get my drink. Kinda weird paying for a drink and tipping the bartender while waiting for drink. Average price, but generous pour, so no real complaints, kinda hard to screw up a poured drink on ice. Served proper too, no fruit and no straw, just a stir stick. Nice, how I my drink.
Service is kinda slow at the table, did wait quite a while when other people in the party were waiting 15 minutes for their drinks to arrive, but after a while staff was pretty friendly, albeit a bit slow.
Overall, it's a new place, which I assume they're still working out the bugs, service could improve, and a proper stocked upper bar would make this place an awesome place to chill with friends. The house band played a bunch of classic covers which can be fun, don't have to listen to some second rate indie band's own songs that nobody knows is always a plus when there's a live band.
Nice place and will be back since it was pretty affordable, great interior and the music wasn't too loud makes for a nice evening out. Only complaints are with finding the main entrance and slow service.
