Waited in line for Friday the thirteenth, expecting to be able to get a simple, small Pi symbol tattoo (3.14 is my birthday ) on my ribs.
The event flyer stated:
"Pick from our flash or your own design" - okay, check, I'll do my own design.
"No bigger than a silver dollar" - check, I want it to be like a quarter size
"2 colors or less and not extremely detailed due to size" - perfect, I just want a simple pi symbol in black ink.
"No names or words... cash only." It's one symbol as I've got my cash ready to go. Been in line for two hours.
**"NO HANDS, WRISTS, OR NECKS"** - cool, I don't want it in those locations. A small, simple tattoo on the ribs.
So 2+ hours into waiting, with my spot saved, I took a little walk around the plaza. As I neared the storefront of the shop, I overheard one of the employees on the phone telling someone "nope, no hands, feet, ribs...". When he got off the phone I told him that their flyer did not state no ribs and that I just wanted a simple pi symbol and that I had been waiting in line for the last couple of hours. IMO, my tat would've taken no longer nor more skill than any of the other tattoos they were going to give that day. He told me, "nope, it's always been that way."
I asked if I'd have to pay the regular price (~$50-60) to have it done that day. He told me that they weren't going to be do anything other than the flash tattoos that day, which I understand.
I'm very disappointed at the false advertisement. Please change your flyers so that they actually have all of the proper information (i.e. Restricted locations). Luckily, I was able to find a place with a Friday the 12th special that took me in within an hour and went home content with my new tattoo.
Another thing I noticed was that when I called ahead of time, I was told there was a waiting list. But when I got there all I found was a line (that moved very slowly)... it wouldn't make sense to have a line if there's a waiting list because a waiting list implies that you walk in, sign the list, and wait around until your name is called (but not necessarily in a line).
Just wish I hadn't waited in line for so long only to find out I wouldn't be able to do it... even though based on the flyer I should have been able to have gotten my tattoo.
