This nice little Chinese run restaurant is tugged away on the small street of Baldwin, near OCAD and AGO. Its a very popular spot for local vegetarians and vegans. Especially those art students and curators. I would say the restaurant atmosphere is decent, kinda awkward. There's a chinese water fountain and then french styled furnitures to feel like a cafe. The lighting is also very stale during lunch, and dimmed during dinner time. Just a juxtapose of random culture.
As for the food, YUM! The portions are fairly large. If you've been here, try to get the special of the day. For lunch I had a vegan chicken pot pie baked on a small bowl, served with a side of steamed vegetables and wild rice. The pot pie was so delicious, its got a cheese texture but a complete different aroma. If you are not too hungry, go ahead and get the "light lunch" meal. Which you get to pick two to three sides. I highly recommend the pot stickers/dumplings. Most of the other dishes are like seitan steak with black pepper sauce. Vegetables with curry. Very typical Chinese buddhism vegan dishes. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a big meal but without paying the high price. It is also a great place to introduce people to the vegan cuisine.
