We've been with Ale Asylum since the beginning, in their original location. It has been great to watch them grow over the years, and conveniently move even closer to our house! I love that we have some of the best beer right in our own neighborhood. We have a rule in our house that we have to walk or bike there (or snowshoe, as may be the case) since we live so close.
The beer is fantastic. I've long been a big fan of their porter, smooth with a nice chocolate flavor. I haven't met a beer there I didn't like, though. They also stock a full bar and decent wine.
I also enjoy their food. They rotate their menu and have some good salads. They've had a great roasted vegetable salad during winter and I recently had a really good steak salad. The fish tacos are great as well. I like how they incorporate their beer as salad dressing ingredients and in the hummus.
Pizza is a standby and always a winner.
Note there is no TV, so not a place to hang out during a game. I appreciate that it's a tap room and not a rowdy sports bar.
I also have to give a shout out to their brand management. All the beer names and logos are clever and they've stuck to their brand over the years.
