| - Well there's always one place that throws a kink in your wedding planning, and unfortunately this place was it. I went to Men's Wearhouse in March to set up the account for my husband, his groomsmen, and our fathers. The initial setup was very pleasant and I was very pleased with the customer service. I was told that because we are a wedding party, that my husband had the option to receive his suit for free or he would get a $600 credit to use on any suit in store. This made me very happy, and I thought it was a great promotion for their company seeing that our friends and family would be spending a substantial amount of money at their store. I left feeling confidant that we chose the right place.
When it came time to get my husband fitted, they were in the middle of their prom rush. I understood that this might make things a little chaotic so I didn't let that bother me. It wasn't until we went to check out that things started to get crummy. When the initial account was created they inputed my husbands name incorrectly. This made it difficult for EVERY SINGLE PERSON who went in. They would give the rental department his name and the response always was, "We don't have anything under that name, sorry." We asked them to change the name multiple times but it never happened. This caused issues with picking up, appointments, and many other things.
As groomsmen were getting fitted, we noticed a huge increase in the price we were quoted and what they were being charged. When I set up the account I told the gentleman that we were going to just do vests instead of vests and jackets. We liked the idea of a more casual look. When I called them to resolve the pricing issue and set everything straight, I was very rudely told, "Well you no longer qualify for the free tux or $600 credit." When I tried to explain that when I set everything up in March I was very clear about what I wanted the bridal party to wear I was immediately cut off. I was just trying to get clarification and a straight answer and they refused to even offer an explanation.
When it came time for pick up, almost every groomsman had a suit that didn't' fit. Multiple shirts were too tight, vests were too small, and pants were either too long or too short. On the day of the wedding, many of the guys had to rush to the nearest department store to get a new shirt for the wedding.
At the end of the day did we get married? Yes. Was it a beautiful day? Yes. Was everyone smiling and having a great time? Yes. We were not going to let this experience ruin our day. I am so glad that I had such an understanding bridal party, and they were very lighthearted and understanding. However, I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Their customer service was the worst I've seen in a long time. Think twice before you come here with your wedding party.
