  • The only item that really reflects the high price is the pool and constant yard maintenance. For example, they seem to paint all the yellow speed bumps every year. The constant maintenance is probably to attract new renters. The pools are usually empty and they have great lounge chairs. Around Christmas the place is pretty empty and the maintenance staff seems to leave for a few weeks as well. It was disgusting during the holidays and was pretty embarrassing to show visitors where I lived. The gates were always breaking but they seem to have fixed that now. The side gate was open for a full month on more than one occasion. Regardless if the gate is closed or not, homeless people come in to shower at the pools during the night. I've seen them sneaking in on multiple occasions. Also, the security guards are not specific to San Palmilla. They go to the other mark taylor properties in the area. Once the security was stuck at the gate and I had to let him in. They also don't seem to mind the homeless coming to shower at night. There's a lot of nice cars here and as you can imagine they get broken into, which happened to me. The break in was in the middle of the day. On another occasion it was vandalized. The garages cost 100 a month and there were not available, you really need one to protect it. I also heard gunshots on multiple occasions at night but I don't think that's too uncommon for the area. The gunshots are not in the complex. The Police seemed to be there a lot. I never realized how often they were until my friend mentioned it to me. There were always a few items in the apartment that were never working. Even after multiple visits from the maintenance. It was frustrating but overall maintenance comes the same day or the next. The apartment was fine, but not luxurious at all. Originally the staff were amazing but they all seemed to have left by the time I was moving out. Kristen Fort seemed to be in charge when I was leaving. She should not be working here or any "luxury" apartment office. She acts like the world owes her something and everyone is against her. No charisma and she is pretty fake. I was never rude to her because the way she acts, she must have some bad issues going on in her life. She did bend the truth a few times but I guess that's expected. Overall, there's a lot better places to live for the same price. It's not bad, I don't think you'll have a nightmare experience but I would never live here again.
