I attended a wedding reception and dance held here in August. Being that I was an emcee, I had additional responsibilities that involved having to interact with the catering team. They appeared pretty relaxed and flexible, thankfully. The cocktail hour and pre-dinner reception ran late. We asked them to put out the buffet at least 30min later than planned and if there were issues with this, it didn't show. All of the food was absolutely amazing, which included perogies and cabbage rolls. I'm from a German Mennonite community and let me tell you, I grew up on some stellar food and these cabbage rolls held their own. Considering the fact that there were over 300 guests, the staff managed the entire evening very well. Several weeks later, people are still talking about the food.
The only small blemish that I noticed was that one of the young ladies tending bar should have been more oriented to what she was pouring. My spouse asked what kind of rye was behind the bar and she said she didn't know what rye was. Oops.
The restrooms were kept very clean and if this reception would have been held anywhere that didn't have the occasional attendant, it would have been a disaster. So many ladies, so much primping.
I would have been hesitant to recommend having a wedding here until I saw it for myself. The presence of the casino wasn't an issue and in fact, the choice between accessible cabs and a convenient place to stay made it easy for guests to be safe and sound at the end of the night. If one can afford this venue as a place to hold an event, I think it's a decent idea.
