The Pickering Central Library has been a staple in my life since I was in grade school. It's got a great, very central location, plenty of parking and a very convenient drive up drop-off spot. They've renovated the main entrance and some other parts of the library, making it much more open and accessible in general.
If you need a quiet place to study, this library has a few little spots you can go for independent study or even just tables in the various areas. it's usually very quiet (especially if you stay away from the kids section) and you can get a lot of work done or just enjoy reading a book here.
It's been quite a while since I've taken anything out of the library, but they carry both new books and older classic books I remember taking out as a kid. They also rent DVDs which is great if you're going to be stuck at home for a while.
