  • I just love the Salon du Monde! I can't speak to the quality of spa services, because I've only experienced a haircut and brow wax. I can't say enough good things about the salon services. First off, I just love the old house they turned into a salon. The decor both outside and inside is homey and comfortable. I love that they offer not only coffee and tea to drink, but you can also get a glass of wine or a pastry. The owner, Barb, brings her awesomely sweet dog with her, so if you're not a fan of animals, I wouldn't come here. Anyhoo, I've had Brett do my eyebrows both time I've been here - she's fast and she does great work. I've had Barb cut my hair both times, and I just absolutely love her. I am a no nonsense haircut kind of girl, and both times she cut my hair in a way that it looks pretty decent with a minimal of styling (my general rule is that if I have to spend more than five minutes on it, it's not worth it). Prices are possibly a little higher than average around Charlotte. It's $45 for a shampoo, haircut and style plus $12 for the brow wax. In my opinion, it's totally worth it - everyone here does great work. I've seen some of the other hair styles they do, and they're all pretty great. Well, maybe it's not as trendy or upscale as some places. But if you like a down-to-earth salon with friendly people and a homey atmosphere, I highly recommend this place.
