| - "What's in a name? that which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet." Bless Juliet, but she never went from Danny's to Jackson's.
Went to Danny's for years, and rarely had an issue. If I did it was quickly and easily resolved. Not so with Jackson's. I went to the 315 Bell Road location yesterday for oil change and VIP wash.
When I go to a new place I usually check things before I leave. But, having gone to Danny's for years, I didn't do this yesterday. HUGE mistake.
If you're going to any oil change/car wash, just expect the 'up sell', it comes with the territory. Know your vehicle and what it needs. As a woman this is particularly important because they will assume you're an idiot. (I will never forget the people that tried to convince me the hydraulic fluid on my "air brakes" needed to be replaced, in my 2005 Dodge Dakota!!! - Ack!)
So, after the standard up sell technique - for $12.50 we will clean your battery posts. Really, um, no. They did tell me I need a wiper blade, but were none too pleased when I pointed out the spare in the back seat, but thanked them for the reminder.
I pay for the wash and oil change and go to wait for my vehicle. It was very busy. When I get into the vehicle it looked like they smeared oil all over the dash, the vac job was iffy, at best, and lots of spots missed. Okay, I'll just wipe off the goo and move on. Went to the grocery, and coming out noticed my truck still had the tiny leaves from where I park at work, spots all over the windows and smeary windshield inside and out. I called them when I got home, didn't want an extra wash, but just advised they might want to make sure things are right, as this was the worst wash I've experienced with "Danny's".
Later, I have to go to Mesa and Tempe. On my way back the temp light comes on. Uh oh! Pull into the gore point in heavy traffic, and already know, yep, they didn't fill the coolant, though of course the receipt says they did. Lucky (or smart) I have AAA, and they towed me home - so not out anything but precious time, and calm demeanor.
Once home I decided I really should check the other fluid levels, which I did this morning. Tran fluid - okay - but need to check again when the vehicle's warm. Oil - looks good. Washer fluid - good. Power steering fluid - low. Interestingly, my receipt shows all full - and in recommendations shows "Coolant system service" and "Power steering flush". Well, here's a thought - fill the fluids as you state you did, and these items will not be an issue.
Lesson learned, I will not return to Jackson's because What they attempted was dishonest and could have cost me thousands of dollars. I will give them a call today, just to let them know that someone's onto their game - but after looking at some of these reviews, I don't think they'll care.
As to Kortney A's positive review above, my best guess is she's an employee. Too much detailed info for a regular customer. I only hope they put a bit extra in her paycheck for the review. On a positive note, Lance - the intro guy, was really sweet and nice. He should look for a job with a reputable company.
Now, off to O'Reilly's to get the fluids I need for my vehicle.
