| - This review is long overview due. My husband and I just renewed our lease. We've been living here for over a year now.
Note that we are originally from NYC and moved from SF, so our perception of this property (including cost of rent) may be different than if you moved here locally from Las Vegas itself.
Pros:
- Beautiful, spacious apartment - love the balcony and appliances.
- Easy parking
- WONDERFUL and helpful office and maintenance staff. Our maintenance issues are resolved within 36 hours - unreal. :) The office staff are super helpful with accepting our packages and answering any questions that we may have.
- Valet garbage AND recycling (apparently rare in LV?) - aka we just leave our bins outside our door.
- Well maintained grounds.
- Doggie park on premise.
- Spacious and well maintained gym and yoga room.
- Nice community - especially in our building.
- Free community events, such as wine nights and BBQs.
- Amazing pool and hot tub.
- Walkable to convenience stores (including Walmart (I know, but still), Panera, SB, etc.)
- Easy off the 215 and easy to get to North or South Las Vegas. I travel a lot for work and the airport is only 15 minutes away.
- I work remotely so the club house is a nice place to post up to get out of the house.
Cons:
- Can't really control this, but some of the residents do not pick up their dog poop, which is unbelievable to me as a dog owner. Management has sent out several notices, but it's hard to change people's behavior.
- I understand the rent is higher than average in the area, but given the amenities and level of service, I think it pays for itself.
- AT&T cell service is poor on the property, but again they can't control that.
- We used to have noise issues from the people downstairs about 8 months ago, but gratefully they moved out (again, people issues).
- They used to have towels at the gym but now they are MIA.
The property has changed a lot since last year mostly due to different types of people moving in and out (apparently a Las Vegas thing?) Seems like a bit more mature crowd has shifted to the property, which I see as a positive. Thank you, Elysian West staff, for making this a great place to live.
