  • We have been a client of Usher Animal Hospital for 7 years. The veterinary care is excellent- but arguably all veterinary clinics provide good care. Our main complaint is the lack of transparency with respect to additional charges. 2 months ago our dog had a full physical examination for his heart worm medication and engorged anal glands at a cost of over $300. Today, they would not give a rabies vaccine without performing a full repeat physical on a healthy 7 year old dog for an additional charge of $80 for the physical exam alone. They were not willing to negotiate and instead, perhaps charge a "recall fee", the customer service from the office manager was poor. A couple of years ago, we experienced a similar situation where we paid close to $400 for a parasite infection and were asked to bring our pet back for a check up, only to be charged an additional $200-$300 for a repeat check-up, there was no mention of this "repeat check-up"charge before the appointment. We have moved to a different veterinary clinic as the customer service is lacking and the prices are high.
