  • Sad to see what's going on around here. A bunch of people (timeshare salespeople) trying to survive by selling a product that entraps people. Seems to be a massive waste of societal resources. The marketing starts with the siren call of *getting something for nothing* - the visa gift card, the free buffet, the discounted shows. But there's no such thing on God's green earth.... earning money was never supposed to be easy, although many try to make it look so. Costco customers tend to fall particularly hard for timeshares, since they often believe in something for nothing (see one of my Costco reviews from Feb 2016). A timeshare presentation will eat up 5hrs+ of your time (if you're lucky) and you will suffer from mind tricks (including implied insults) to try to get you to buy one. If you happen to be in a weak moment - which is human given how these folks will wear you down - and you buy one, then you'll be stuck with an *eternal liability* passed down across generations and basically zero value when you try to resell. It's so bad you Can't_Even_Give_It_Away as charities won't take them. The best way to take advantage of the whole situation is to *rent* from a timeshare owner, because you can get a good price. But even then, you'll be tempted by myriad free offers to sit through a presentation. This property is decently nice although it will slip over time as it gets older. Decades from now, this thing will be in bad shape yet the maintenance fees for owners will keep setting new records.
