| - Amy's Baking Company has gotten a lot of heat lately. I was not a fan at how she acted on the show. Then watching the second show, i saw how heavily edited the first show was. So I decided to go in myself and find out. So a couple of my peers that attend Arizona Culinary School together and I went to Amy's to try it out.
We were gracefully greeted. Samy was so helpful. I then asked to also meet Amy. She was busy in the back but caught a quick break to say Hi to us. We ordered our drinks and food. It was nice to see that there were 4 other families who frequented ABC before, several times and were remembered by name. Very pleasant.
I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Ravioli Rustica. It was amazing! OMGosh I loved it. My best friend Ciara ordered the Caesar Salad, which she loved and my friend Nicole ordered the Chicken Fett Alfredo which i loved as well. Very well seasoned all the dished were. My friend Ciara decided to order the Rustica, my dish, to take home to her BF for dinner.
We were then asked if we'd like a tour of her kitchen, bc we were in our Chef's Uniform, and we would appreciate the tour. It was amazing, and immaculate. MEaning, it wasnt made up just for the show. What made my even happier was hearing that she did take her Kosher and vegetarian and any other guest very seriously. One of her cooks thought it'd be fun to throw bacon into one of he friers to have some fun and make her own creation and Amy lit her up bc that oil was now tainted by a pork/ meat product. So she made the girl empty and clean it out. Mind you, had that been my establishment, I would have charged the girl for the oil that was destroyed.
I loved Amy's and have now changed the mind of all my Chefs to try it out for themselves instead of being the Chef's they teach us not to be.
