| - This is my favorite Chinese bakery in the GTA. When you go first thing in the morning, get the buns: warm, sightly sweet, and clearly made fresh. Taro tastes like real taro, curry beef is well seasoned, pineapple buns crispy... Basically great quality buns no matter which one you get. Everything is a little more expensive than your average T&T and likewise there's a long, quick-moving line on weekends. The milk tea and honey tea are strong and made quickly, perfect for the morning rush. Don't expect to get a seat in the though; the older Asian locals usually have a monopoly over the tables.
In the afternoon, the more interesting desserts like mango mochi, lava cheese tarts, and egg tarts are available. The cheese tarts are a tasty, more affordable alternative to uncle tetsu or fugo.
Obviously no place is perfect; the cashiers are focused on efficiency, so they're curt and blunt. I don't get their mini pastries and cakes because they don't suit my dessert preferences. I also pay cash to avoid any potential debit/credit minimums.
