| - Long story short: coffee is still delicious, ambiance has taken a dive.
Short story long: Having lived just around the corner from the Hingetown location, I've been going to this place since the jump. Loved it, loved the baristas, loved the vibe. I grudgingly accepted word getting out and it getting more and more busy, it still maintained what I loved.
I was excited to learn that after moving the roastery to a different location they would be opening up the space for more seating. I couldn't wait to see what cool, unique and eclectic tables, chairs, couches, etc. the place would bring in. Surely the new seating would match the hip culture of Rising Star and continue with the neat, handcrafted furniture already in place.
Boy, was I wrong. I was SUPER disappointed when I finally got there only to see cheap, generic, out-of-place tables and chairs with dinky vases on them. Blah. They basically ruined it. It feels like the seating at the coffee place inside the grocery store. Not surprisingly, no one was sitting in there, preferring to lurk outside. It's really sad. I hope it's just temporary while they have a woodsmith carving up some gorgeous tables and benches or some such. If not, et tu, Brute?
