| - First off, I love Asian flavours and I love baked goods. Second, I love their aesthetics and their branding. I really like their wooden shelves and the atmosphere here. What I'm not in love with is the products they have. I have tried Bake Code a few times now with various different pastries, and there are definitely some hit or misses.
Their most popular product I believe: their croissants. I have tried the matcha lava croissant, the thai milk tea lava croissant, and their matcha creme croissant as well. I can't really recommend these. My friend has a differing opinion, but when my mom and I tasted it, we were not a fan of the flavours. The lava portion was quite liquid-y (we didn't like the texture and it was spilling everywhere) and the taste was kind of off. It's also a note to say that they are like $5 each, which is quite steep. I understand the work put into it, but I'd rather buy something else.
On the bright side, I've tried their custard tarts, which was quite pleasant. The taro knot was very soft and nice as well. They also have lots of breads with asian fusion flavours and I really want to try these in the future. It's also nice how they're integrated with a Chatime, and there's a big area to sit and study as well.
As of now, because of the steep prices and the varying quality of products, Bake Code is getting a 3/5 from me. I would still come back to try other products, but the high prices make it a once in a while treat.
