  • I was passing through Charlotte on a road trip with the bf when I decided that I had a craving for sweets that could not be ignored - enter: Amelie's (this location was the one around the corner from me when I whipped out the trusty Yelp app). I absolutely worship good, classic fudgy brownies with the crackly crisp top. The salted caramel brownie is not that classic brownie at all BUT it is absolutely amazing. It was a dense, but still fudgy brownie bottom, topped with a delicious layer of caramel on top. Looking at this thing gave me cavities. My only regret is not buying 5 more for the road! I took off a star because unfortunately they didn't have too much else in the bakery case when I got there (around lunchtime on a weekday) and I had also wanted something more substantial for lunch. Not sure if I just came at a bad time, or if they always run out of food? (In the end doesn't matter though - they had a whole tray full of brownies still, and that's what's important!)
