| - Had brunch at social for the first time today with a large group. I thought my food was pretty good, but the service was somewhat lacking.
When I arrived and asked if anyone from my group had shown up yet, the first waiter who spoke to me was super rude, and made fun of me, as if saying "I'm looking for a large group, name ---" is a bizarro thing to say when you come in! Then he went to "double check" and never came back. Luckily, a nicer waiter came while I was waiting and took me to my table with neither hesitation nor snark.
The restaurant was basically empty except for our table, but everything took forever to come out. Six of us ordered bloody marys (maries?) and it must have been 25 minutes before they came back. During that time, nobody checked with us about anything.
The bloody mary was enjoyable - it was very spicy, which I liked, but not very strong, which I didn't like so much. I ordered the breakfast pizza without the bacon, (tater tots on pizza just sounds delightful). It was ok, but the eggs were scrambled and pretty set, and there was no sauce. This made for a very dry pizza. I think it could have been much improved by a generous drizzling of some kind of sauce (a sriracha mayo maybe?)
The rest of their menu intrigued me enough that I will likely return for dinner. I hope I don't run into that waiter again, though.
