  • *Update April 2016, Because I can't write more than one review for a compnay. Unfortunately, in my line of work. I have to continually deal with this horrendous company. In January 2016, I took over mgmt of a building, that had 4 gas lines with missing gas meters. I scheduled for SWG to come out and install meters, and they met me there, and told me I had to get a licensed plumber to leak test those lines before they could install meters. I don't understand how they couldn't tell me that on the phone when I scheduled the meter installs with them. Feb 2nd, 2016, SWG meets me at the property again, and installs 2 gas meters for me. The other 2, they claim one has a leak, and the other they require access to the roof, and that I had to provide a lift for them to do so. The one with a leaks, needs a leak test, and permit. April 12th, 2016, SWG meets me at the property again. They claim I never scheduled an install for the meter that needed a leak test, and a permit, even though admitting it was ready for one. They now tell me I need another leak test and permit for the other meter, even though the last slip their driver left me, with a hand written message that it needs roof access and meter needs to match address. So basically I rented a lift today for them, for no reason at all. April 13th, 2016. I've spent all day on the phone back and forth with my plumber, and the building dept. The permit I already had, they both assured me covered both meters because they're on the same parcel number. Now SWG is saying the number on the meters don't match the address number on the suites. The numbers on the suites were stuck on by the previous tenants, who moved out years ago. These are retail spaces. On the other hand, I explained my situation to the company that rented me the lift, they decided to help me out by only charging me for the delivery and pickup fee, and not the rental fee. I will be leaving Cashman Equipment a positive review, look for it. To this date, I've spend $1200 on permits/leaks tests, $1000 on gas meter deposits, and $400 for lift rental, and am continually paying basic monthly service. All while still not having gas service on 2 meters. Every time I deal with this company, they tell me something different. When I get upset, they blame me for misunderstanding them, and hang up. This is the reality of utility companies having no competition. If you can avoid this company, save yourself the headaches, and RUN!
