The Lakewood Public Library is the one library in the Cleveland area that is not part of the big system that all the other libraries are part of. This can be annoying; I would recommend that if you live in Lakewood, you join this library but also join the bigger system.
The selection here is above average for a small city's library, but it pales in comparison to the larger selection available at the downtown library and in the system as a whole. At the same time, in both systems, OhioLink is at your disposal--so you have almost unlimited resources, available much more conveniently than with a typical Interlibrary Loan system.
The atmosphere at this library is particularly pleasant. They also have events and groups that meet here from time to time, and some of them can be quite interesting.
And, this library is in a great location, right in the heart of downtown Lakewood.
The bottom line? This is a 5-star public library. Use it!
