I recently had my Hyundai Sonata serviced by the technicians at Chapman Hyundai on Bell Rd. and unfortunately will never take my vehicle back there again. Since I was going to work I asked my father to drop off my vehicle at the dealership. The morning after I picked up my vehicle I noticed the chrome trim around my front grill CLEARLY damaged. This was not the condition of the vehicle beforehand and I had many people who are familiar with my vehicle confirm this as well. The assessment Chapman performs on vehicles requires them to remove the vehicle's exterior (such as the grill) in order for it to be fully inspected. I e-mailed the technician Justin with pictures asking for him to investigate how the damage occurred and for my vehicle to be repaired at no charge. Less than five minutes later I received a call from Justin where he claimed the vehicle was already in that condition and the damage was due to wear and tear and from rocks/ debris developing underneath the trim. This tells me he made no attempt to investigate with his technicians if or how the damage occurred. He also claimed he pointed out this damage during the initial walk through with my father (a complete lie, he did not tell my father any such thing). Justin was kind enough to let me know it would cost about $400 to repair the grill if I decided to bring it in. He also referred to me as buddy instead of my actual name throughout the conversation. I truly hoped Chapman would have taken ownership of this issue but instead I was lied to by and individual pretending to be a friend. Every time I walk to my car I am reminded of how badly my vehicle was handled. Please avoid taking your vehicle here.
