  • Why are so many people who poison themselves to look "better" (?) customers of a "healthy" grocery store? What is with the huge selection of unhealthy snacks at a "wholesome" supermarket? These and other questions come to my mind whenever I visit Whole Foods in Yorkville, which isn't that often due to inconvenience, price, and the utterly delusionally rude and previously mentioned botoxed clientele. There are a couple of good reasons to shop here too, including the huge selection of fresh organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables. They also have a pretty good butcher and lots of prepared foods, which would be a nice option if you worked nearby. I have also found the staff friendly and helpful, and they usually do have lots of people on staff to assist, which is more than you can say for a lot of supermarkets in Toronto. (Metro, I'm looking at you!) If I am not in search of something unique, however, I don't see much need to visit Whole Foods, especially because of the other customers. Now, I am a huge fan of "Walking Dead" and other zombie pop culture, but I didn't expect so many other fans to pay homage in my local Whole Foods. There have been recent reports (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-28/allergan-loses-212-million-botox-personal-injury-lawsuit-in-virginia.html) that Botox causes brain damage, and I have seen the evidence at Whole Foods Yorkville.
