  • We met an Aqua-Tot rep at the Irish Festival in Phoenix on 3/17/18. We have an infant that we are looking to teach how to swim. I have concerns about having our infant learn how to swim in pools that have chlorine in them (due to health concerns) rather than using a salt water pool. The rep acted like a know-it-all saying that that both pools have chlorine in them, and that the chlorine in the salt water pools are from sodium chloride. Um......NO! One should not try to BS people, especially since I have a chemistry background. The two are very distinctly different. Salt water pools have dissociated chloride in them, while other pools have chlorine in them to kill bacteria. They are far from being the same. Due to the rep's extreme ignorance we will not even consider bringing our infant to an Aqua-Tots facility.
