  • Wow what a night! Seeing the first night of Guns N' Roses' "Not in this Lifetime" tour was an event that a few years ago I only could've dreamed of. As a somewhat new resident to Las Vegas, I was very eager to see this huge new arena and I definitely wasn't disappointed! It's State of the art in every facet: from the modern design to the surprisingly comfortable seats, from the large pedestrian corridors to the endless food and beverage options, this arena seems to have it all. It wasn't a flawless operation though. The black eye would have to be how the doors didn't open on the scheduled 8:00 time. An increasingly frustrated and borderline aggressive crowd (most of which was forced to stand in the rain) had to wait until 8:45 for the doors to open! This potentially could've caused a small scale riot or stampede but luckily this didn't happen. That aside, I don't have a single complaint about this venue! One other review said the AC was cranked too high but although I always get cold, I didn't have this experience and suspect that the other reviewer was under an AC duct. A couple side notes: beer and food is expensive! But then again, what do you expect from a major arena in a world class city? Worth noting though is that the prices aren't the same at every bar. Domestic tall cans range from $11-12 depending on where you go. Considering that's only $6 for 12 ounces, that's really not all that bad, all things considered. Parking is also a bitch. $20! $10 if you pre reserve online. As a local, this doesn't do it for me but I know it's right in line with other large cities and events. I suggest taking the monorail to the MGM Grand. It's only a dollar one way for locals but be aware it only runs till 3am and I almost got screwed as GNR didn't even go on until midnight! That 3am deadline shouldn't be a problem for other shows though. All in all, well done! I'm very impressed and will definitely be back! Just please oh please open the doors at the scheduled time to avoid a violent situation!
