  • They do not call back when there is a warranty repair. Have left many msgs and have to stay on them to get a call back after a week or two. Often have had to call them back out on repairs not fixed right the first time. Additionally, beware if you use them for pool chem service. Their chem employees know nothing about repairs or proper operation of pool equipment. We had them doing weekly chem service and not once did they notify us the pump was leaking and not priming. tenant reported it to us so I called Maddy's to find out if they could look at it next time they were out for chem service. Never got a call back. Called two weeks later and was told they would have to check with the tech that went out there. Also told them the pool light wasn't working and wanted to get a price on replacing the pool light or looking at why it wasn't working. A few days later I get an invoice for $99. I called them and said WTF, why am I getting a bill when no one ever called to tell me what the problem was and how much the repair was? I was told that they charge $99 to have someone go out and "assess" the problem. I asked why couldn't the pool chem guy look at it when he was out there? Their answer was that their chem guys are not trained on repairs and they charge a service fee to send a repair tech out to assess the issue. I raised hell because they never informed me of this, never called me back and the worst part: their estimate for repairs was WRONG. They gave us an estimate of $843 for replacing the pool light because it was a multicolor older light. The problem is, after we fired them and got a new pool service guy out there the following week, in 10 min, he found that it was the electrical switch that was bad, not the light. Cost of repair = $23. No extra service charge. We have used Maddy's in the past for pool service and had complaints from tenants that the pool is dirty, looks cloudy, wasn't brushed or vacuumed and every time I called Maddy's to find out why, was told the tech was out there and did all of that and tenant is lying. Tenants would send pics and they were right! We have fired them from all of the pools they used to service for us.
